A potentially big arrest was made under heavy police presence in Oakland, the Giants lost to the Braves (again), and PG&E can't find enough tree-trimmers.
The Bay Area's counterculture forebears have left behind a lot for us to read, listen to, and sort out. But in the case of one KPIX employee who also happens to be a hobbyist repairer of old electronic instruments, the counterculture came rushing back in the form of some actual, vintage acid.
Festivals each have characters all their own, with varying emphasis on food, beer, wine, cocktails, and the acts they present. Likewise the Bay Area's biggest festivals, the first of which happens this weekend, all have varying degrees of bang for your buck when it comes to VIP experiences.
This week's story about a missing persons report that led to a welfare check that led to the discovery of dismembered human remains has an update from neighbors on the street. They say that loud fights and noises often came from the home on Del Monte Street in the Outer Mission.

Another day, another "elegy" for the unrelenting wasteland that is our fair city. In exactly the same vein and tone of that irritating New Yorker piece last week, the Washington Post has published a piece in the Style section all about how San Francisco has finally, irreversibly gone to hell.
The City Attorney’s office rejected her claim that the city was responsible for her collapsed lung and broken ribs, so a lawsuit seems likely.

|Seller Notes:||“This comes with the kite, the snap case bag and the kite handler. The kite handler is in great shape. It does not have string. The snap case bag does have some wear including some tattering to the plastic especially at the top. The graphics are nice and bright on it. The snap plastic bar at the top still snaps in place, but two small pieces of the plastic have broken off. The kite itself is in really nice shape. It almost looks like it was never flown. Well taken care of. No rips of holes, just minimal wear. Tale has been kept neatly folded and two pieces of cardboard have been placed inside to protect the integrity of the kite and bag. A piece of string has been taped to the kite. It probably would still fly, but I'd recommend this more a collectible piece than a functional one. Sold as is. See pictures for details.”|
